Peer Review Process
READS – Scientific Initiation Journal in Business Administration is committed to preserving the integrity of peer review and maintaining high standards of quality in its editorial processes. The objective is to ensure the journal’s scientific excellence while providing authors with a fair and constructive evaluation that contributes to the improvement of their work.
The review process comprises three main stages:
Desk Review – The Editor-in-Chief examines the manuscript to verify basic requirements of scientific relevance, theoretical and methodological contribution, originality, text quality, and alignment with the journal’s scope. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria or fail to comply with technical requirements do not proceed to peer review.
Double Blind Review – Approved manuscripts are sent to reviewers with expertise in the relevant area. The evaluation period is normally up to 30 days, with the anonymity of authors and reviewers preserved.
Editorial Decision – The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ reports. In case of disagreement between reviewers, a third reviewer may be invited, also with a deadline of up to 30 days.
Evaluations are recorded in forms that include space for comments. When revisions are requested, authors have up to 30 days to resubmit the manuscript. The revised version may be reassessed by the same reviewers and, if necessary, undergo a second round of revisions. If the changes do not adequately address the recommendations, the article may not be accepted for publication.
How is the Article Evaluated?
Articles submitted to READS undergo a double-blind peer review process, considering scientific and editorial criteria that ensure academic quality and relevance. Aspects evaluated include clarity of the title, consistency of the abstract, adequacy of the introduction, updated and relevant theoretical framework, methodological rigor, coherence of analysis, presentation of results, depth of discussion and conclusion, as well as quality of writing and compliance with the journal’s guidelines.
This process ensures transparency, impartiality, and academic rigor, reaffirming READS’s commitment to open science, the training of new researchers, and editorial excellence.
