Author Guidelines

The submission of articles to READS is carried out exclusively through the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform. Authors must complete their registration in the system before submitting a manuscript. If already registered, simply log in and start the submission process.

Format and Style

  • File in Word (.docx), A4 size (29.7 x 21 cm).
  • Font Times New Roman, size 12, single spacing.
  • Margins: top and left 3 cm; bottom and right 2 cm.
  • Minimum length 3,500 words and maximum 6,500 words, including references.
  • Citations, references, tables, and figures must follow the APA – American Psychological Association (7th edition) guidelines.

Mandatory Manuscript Structure

The article must include:

  • Title in the main language and in English.
  • Abstract in the main language and in English (150 to 250 words each).
  • Keywords (3 to 5) in the main language and in English.
  • Introduction.
  • Theoretical framework.
  • Methodology.
  • Results.
  • Discussion.
  • Conclusion.
  • References.

Manuscript Anonymization

The submitted manuscript must not contain any identification of the authors or institutions. To ensure anonymity in the double-blind review process:

  • Remove names of authors and institutions from the text.
  • Delete personal information in “Document Properties” in Word or PDF (option “Remove Properties and Personal Information”).
  • Use “Author(s)” or “Institution” as temporary markers where necessary.

Complementary Information (to be included only in the final version, after acceptance)

After acceptance for publication, the following information must be added to the article:

  • Authors: education, institutional affiliation, and research interests.
  • Author contributions: description of each author’s participation.
    • Example: First author: introduction, methodology, and data analysis. Second author: data collection and processing.
  • Funding: declaration of financial support, when applicable.
    • Example: This study received support from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – Brazil (CAPES), Funding Code 001.
  • Data availability statement: specify if research data are available in repositories, upon request, or subject to confidentiality restrictions.
  • Conflict of interest: declare potential conflicts. If none, use: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
  • Disclaimer: statements, opinions, and data are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the position of READS or its editors.

Template

Articles must be prepared using the official template available on the journal’s website, which guides formatting, structure, and required elements of the manuscript.

Important Note

This information (authors, affiliations, contributions, funding, data availability, and conflict of interest) may be requested by the OJS system at the time of submission. However, the manuscript submitted for review must be fully anonymized, with no data that could identify the authors. The data entered in the system are not shared with reviewers and will be incorporated only in the final version of the article, if accepted for publication.
