Governance

READS operates in accordance with a governance system aligned with best editorial practices. This approach aims to ensure that all governance bodies — Editorial Board, Scientific Committee, and Editor — consistently uphold the highest ethical principles and full transparency throughout the editorial process.

To promote excellence and quality at every stage of READS’s governance system, each body — the Editorial Board, the Scientific Committee, and the Editor — plays a fundamental role in the review and publication process. Clearly defining their responsibilities is essential to avoid ambiguities and to ensure that all parties involved are fully aware of their duties.

The Editorial Board provides strategic guidance for the publication, including recommendations for improvements in editorial policies, issues related to publication quality, ethical aspects, and editorial management. Its composition must be diverse, bringing together recognized experts in the field who can provide a comprehensive perspective on the themes addressed by READS.

The Scientific Committee is responsible for conducting a rigorous evaluation of submitted manuscripts, ensuring their scientific quality. To fulfill this role, the committee is composed of highly qualified and impartial researchers who serve as references in their fields, thus maintaining a high academic and editorial standard.

The Editor coordinates all editorial activities, working closely with the Editorial Board and the Scientific Committee. The Editor is also responsible for ensuring that all stages of the review and publication process are conducted with impartiality, integrity, and rigor, preserving the reputation and credibility of READS.

Emphasis on adherence to the highest ethical standards is essential, as it contributes to integrity and trust in the published results. Transparency likewise plays a crucial role, enabling authors, reviewers, and readers to have clear and open access to relevant information about the editorial process.

By emphasizing the roles and responsibilities of each body, READS seeks to achieve a high standard of governance, resulting in a publication that brings together works of excellence, supported by transparent and ethical processes. Furthermore, the journal reaffirms its commitment to the training of new researchers, strengthening its reputation and contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge in its field.

Articles submitted to READS must comply with the basic guidelines for integrity in scientific activity established by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) – Commission on Research Integrity.
